A Christianis a person who adheres to Christianity, an Abrahamic, monotheistic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. "Christian" derives from the Koine Greek word Christós (Χριστός), a translation of the Biblical Hebrew term mashiach.
There are diverse interpretations of Christianity which sometimes conflict. However, "Whatever else they might disagree about, Christians are at least united in believing that Jesus has a unique significance.”Wikipedia)

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of passage?
His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone. He is
required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until
the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to
anyone.
Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.
He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come
into manhood on his own.
The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds
of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some human
might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump,
but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he
could become a man.
Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold.
It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him. He
had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm.
We, too, are never alone. Even when we don't know it, our Heavenly Father is
watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us. When trouble comes, all we
have to do is reach out to Him.
Three sons left home, went out on their own and prospered. They discussed the gifts they were
able to give their elderly mother.
The first said: “I built a big house for our mother.”
The second said: “I sent her a Mercedes with a driver.”
The third said: “You remember how our mother enjoys reading the Bible. Now she can’t see
very well. So I sent her a remarkable parrot that recites the entire Bible. It took elders in
the church 12 years to teach him. Mama just has to name the chapter and verse and the
parrot recites it.”
Soon thereafter, their mother sent out her letters of thanks.
“Milton,” she said, “the house you built is so huge. I live only in one room, but I have to clean
the whole house.
“Gerald,” she said, “I am too old to travel. I stay most of the time at home so I rarely use the
Mercedes. And that driver is so rude! He’s a pain!”
“But Donald,” she said, “the little chicken you sent was delicious!”
